Here is how you can become Member of the Iota Xi at-Large Chapter: Eligibility Requirements for membership in Iota Xi Chapter-at-Large is the same for undergrad, RN, Grad, and Nurse Leaders. Students that qualify for membership, will be invited to apply. Nurse Leaders from the community must complete the following application Sigma Community Nurse Leader application and submit to Dr. Rita Gengo at rgengoesilva2021@health.fau.edu

  • Sigma Iota Xi at-Large Chapter - Induction Ceremony - April 19, 2024

    Congratulations to our Inductees for their dedication and participation in this significant event! The Induction Ceremony represents a commitment not only to their nursing career but also to the advancement of the nursing profession. 

    We are immensely proud of all our New Chapter Members!

    We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event, including the Induction Ceremony Committee, Dr. Rita Gengo, Dr. Candy Wilson, Dr. Luci Mendonca-Cali, Dr. Barbara Lovell-Martin, Dr. Raquel Brown, and Instructor Herlie Bertrand. Special thanks to Samantha Bongay, BSN student, for her outstanding rendition of the National Anthem and her violin performance during the ceremony.

  • Research Day - April 16, 2024

    The Research Day at FAU's Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing was truly memorable. It was a dynamic blend of fun, interactivity, and rich educational experiences. Students and Nursing Faculty from BSN, Masters, DNP, and PhD programs showcased their research endeavors through engaging poster presentations.

    With immense joy, the Iota Xi at-Large Chapter International Honor Society of Nursing extends heartfelt congratulations to all the participants who have been honored with the "Best Poster Award."

    We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the panel of judges for their valuable time and efforts in carefully selecting the winners. Your commitment to excellence has contributed significantly to the success of this award.   • The 2024 Annual Healing for Healers Event

    The 2024 Annual "Healing for Healers" Event was truly a success! This event was generously sponsored by FAU Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Sigma Iota xi at-Large Chapter, and Florida Nurses Association.
    The Healing for Healers Event offered a unique opportunity for all nurses and nursing students to immersed themselves into the realm of Holistic Nursing and to explored  various Healing & Wellness Practices. It  was a gathering designed to nurture and rejuvenate those who dedicate themselves to the noble profession of healing
    Thank you so much for all of those who participated in this event, and if you were unable to attend this event this year, we sincerely hope to see you there in 2025!

  • Sigma Iota Xi at-Large Chapter Board on the Sigma 47th Biennial Convention

    Dear Colleague, 

    We have an exciting news to share! 

    Thank you Dr. Armiel Suriaga (Former Chapter President) and Dr. Barbara Lovell-Martin (Current Chapter President) for attending the Sigma 47th Biennial Convention at San Antonio, Texas from November 11-15, 2023. 

    While attending the convention, Dr. Suriaga and Dr. Lovell-Martin received "The Chapter Key Excellence Award" on behalf of the leadership team and members of the IOTA XI A-Large Chapter.  All members of this chapter were recognized for their great achievements; not only by the Sigma Region 7, but also by all members of Sigma International Honor Society of Nursing. 

    Please share this wonderful news with colleagues and students, as we celebrate receiving such prestigious award and being proud members of the IOTA Xi At-Large Chapter.

  • Iota Xi at-Large Chapter promotes Sigma at FAU CEL CON Student Orientation

    We thank our chapter members who assisted in promoting the Sigma Iota Xi at-Large during the Florida Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing Student Orientation on August 17 and 18, 2023, at the college atrium. This activity aligns with the chapter's goal of increasing student membership in the Sigma International Honor Society of Nursing.
